Abbott Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to residents of Myanmar. By using Abbott websites or submitting your personal information, you acknowledge and consent that Abbott may collect, process, store, and transfer your personal information in compliance with Myanmar Cybersecurity Law 2025, Electronic Transactions Law, and other applicable laws. Abbott may be legally required to provide your personal information to authorized Myanmar government agencies upon lawful request. This Privacy Policy describes how Abbott processes the information you provide through our websites controlled by Abbott Laboratories Company Limited (including its subsidiaries and affiliates). This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal information collected without the use of the internet, residents of countries other than Myanmar, and/or third-party websites to which Abbott may link. Your use of Abbott Services which link to this Privacy Policy are subject to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using Abbott Website services or sending personal information to us.

On occasion, Abbott may offer apps, special programs, activities, events, or promotions (“Programs”) that have unique or additional specific terms, privacy notices, and/or consent forms that explain how any information you provide will be processed in connection with the Programs. You should review the applicable terms before interacting or participating in the Programs

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION

“Personal information” means information that identifies you as an individual or information that can be reasonably used to identify you – and is sent to and/or collected by Abbott’s website and maintained by Abbott in an accessible form. Examples of personal information include your name, mailing address, and telephone number.

Personal information also includes indirect identifiers, such as IP address, device identifiers, cookies, and other online identifiers, when they can be reasonably used to identify an individual.

2. HOW DOES ABBOTT COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Abbott collects data using two methods:

1. Personal information submitted and collected by Abbott through the information box on Abbott’s website. For example, you may enter your name, mailing address, email address, and/or other information on various topics to register for Abbott’s programs, contact our Customer Service Department, or answer Abbott’s Survey Questions.

Abbott will collect and process your personal data only upon your express consent, or where necessary for legitimate business purposes as permitted by Myanmar law. For the protection of your privacy, you should not provide any information not requested.

2. Data collection that cannot be identified without a response. Abbott’s Website may collect information upon entry or viewing of the website in which you do not intend to send information. Unidentified information may be collected using various technologies such as cookies, internet tags, and web beacons. Internet browsers send data automatically, such as the URL of the website you just visited and the browser version your computer is using.

Abbott will attempt to provide an option to Interactive data collection technology where feasible. Some Interactive data collection technology are necessary for website functionality and may not be fully disabled. Information gathered by these technologies cannot be used to identify you without additional information.

If you choose to submit any personal information relating to other people, you represent that you have the authority to do so and permit us to use the information in accordance with this Policy.

3. IN WHAT CASES ABBOTT MAY COLLECT AND USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Abbott will use the personal information you provide through Abbott’s website to answer your questions and provide sufficient services. Abbott may use identification technology to enable websites to “remember” your personal preferences, such as the categories of websites you visit frequently.

Abbott will use your personal information for customer support, including sample request, website customization, surveys, and communications only with your prior express consent, except where otherwise permitted by law. Any sharing of personal information with third parties for marketing purposes requires your prior consent. Abbott will notify you in advance if your personal data will be shared with third parties, including overseas recipients, and will ensure that such recipients maintain standards of protection consistent with Myanmar law.

Abbott may share your personal information with a third party in connection with the sale or transfer of one of its product lines or divisions so that the buyer can continue to perform the processing of personal data for the purposes above mentioned, where applicable. Abbott may be required to disclose your personal information to respond to authorized information requests from government authorities or law enforcement agencies or when otherwise required by law. In certain cases, Abbott may also disclose your personal information to legal advisers and auditors, when required and legally permitted.

Abbott may also share provide access to your personal information to vendors with whom Abbott contracts to carry out business activities on its behalf (e.g., customer support services, delivery services, online payment services and fraud detection services, cloud, or hosting providers, marketing activities, where applicable, etc.). If Abbott provides your personal information to vendors to assist us with our business activities, it is Abbott’s practice to require those vendors to keep your personal information confidential and to use your personal information only to perform functions following Abbott’s instructions, including its erasure or return upon termination of their services.

4. DOES ABBOTT COLLECT INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?

Abbott may collect personal information of customers using the Abbott website. Abbott then uses this information to help improve website design, make Abbott products better, communicate information on marketing research and promotions, and facilitate other business operations.

Abbott ensures that all personal information collected is processed in accordance with Myanmar law and for legitimate business purposes.

5. WHAT CHOICES DO YOU HAVE ABOUT ABBOTT'S COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION?

You can limit the number and type of personal information that Abbott receives by choosing not to submit personal information on the form or information box on Abbott’s website. Some online services may only provide service when personal information is provided. Other sections of Abbott’s website may ask if you want to receive promotional offers and additional services.

You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information collected by Abbott in accordance with Myanmar law. Requests can be submitted to DG-MYM-Enquiry@abbott.com

You may receive questions about specific preferences or a preference box that allows you to choose whether Abbott uses tracking technologies such as cookies to “remember” your personal information. Some browsers allow you to limit or disable tracking technology that collects anonymous data.

6. WHO CAN ACCESS PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?

Personal information can be accessed by a limited number of Abbott employees or companies undertaking projects in collaboration with Abbott.

Access to your personal information is strictly limited to authorized Abbott employees or contracted service providers who require the information to perform their duties, under confidentiality obligations consistent with Myanmar law. Abbott trains its employees on proper data handling and privacy obligations.

7. DOES ABBOTT SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES?

As a general rule, Abbott cannot share your personal information with third parties, except when necessary for joint projects, project implementation, or activities through a contractual partner.

Abbott will not share personal information with third parties for marketing without your prior express consent. All third parties receiving your personal information are contractually required to maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection standards equivalent to those under Myanmar law. Abbott may disclose personal information to authorized government officials when legally required under Myanmar law, including the Cybersecurity Law 2025.

8. HOW DOES ABBOTT SECURE PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Abbott maintains each website’s information securely. However, confidentiality of information transmitted via the internet is not guaranteed. Abbott recommends that you exercise caution when passing personal information through the internet.

Abbott implements appropriate technical, organizational, and administrative measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, consistent with Myanmar Cybersecurity Law 2025.

When you submit personal information, consider both benefits and risks. Abbott’s website will display a warning when connecting to external websites not covered by this Privacy Policy. You should check the privacy policies of external websites before providing personal information.

9. CROSS-BORDER TRANSFERS

Your personal information may be processed by Abbott, its affiliates, and contracted service providers anywhere in the world (e.g., the U.S.), outside your home country.

Abbott ensures that cross-border transfers are conducted with appropriate safeguards and in compliance with Myanmar law, including contractual protections requiring data recipients to maintain confidentiality and security of your information.

Please include your registered email address (if applicable), website address or specific Abbott program, and a detailed explanation of your request. Abbott will respond to all reasonable requests in a timely manner in accordance with Myanmar law.

11. HOW WILL I KNOW WHETHER ABBOTT HAS UPDATED THIS POLICY?

Abbott reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time.

Changes will be communicated by updating the policy on the website with the revised effective date. Significant changes affecting your rights under Myanmar law will be notified to you directly where possible.

By providing Abbott with your personal information and by using our websites or applications, you understand, acknowledge, and agree to this Privacy Policy, and expressly provide your consent to the collection, processing, storage, transfer, and sharing of your personal information in accordance with Myanmar Cybersecurity Law 2025, Electronic Transactions Law, and other applicable laws.
